Title: Texas Cactus by Alexander
|
| |
Description
The cactus scenes of Texas with mountains in the background have a great
folky view with no commercial views. The cactus has taken over an area between higher points and the view
looks like an old John Wayne movie. Oil on board, one can almost see cowboys racing in the dust across the
landscape shown here. This is pure folk art. |

Title: Western Landscape by D. M. O'Connell
|
| |
Description
A real pink and blue pastel western scene showing cacti
and the west with no commercial development or light poles. A nostalgic look and a study in lighting in the
desert. John Wayne could arrive from the scene in any direction. The frame for this piece is some sort of
western shrub or wood that is in perfect keeping with the painting. It probably was custom made for the
painting. |

Title: 19th Century View Of Constantinople
|
| |
Description
A view of this city from out in the hills looking in the distance with
buildings very distinctly visible. Nothing is known of the artist but from the stretcher it would be assumed
they were European the condition is great and the town portrayed before modern life took over. This is a
really pretty image of an older Turkish town that is so visual that when seeing it, one almost thinks they
are standing on the hill overlooking the city. There is a notation after the signature of Constantinople. |
