Title: 1920s Dolphin Motif Brass Andirons
|
| |
Description
In the Roaring 20s, the new rich created mansions that reflected pasts that were not really
based on fact. In fact, the more fanciful, the better. These andirons reflect a love of the sea, and told
the viewers that their owners had made a lot of money and were able to afford anything they wanted. The
weight of these are simply unbelievable. The castings are very well done, and as is visible in the photos,
there is an old look of brass polish to the surface. The classical appearance of this would go with any
mantle or fireplace decoration. |

Title: Chinese, 1920s Blue Cloisonne Ashtray
|
| |
Description
Beautiful deep
blue ashtray accented with white flowers and foliage done in the cloisonne style. Definitely an older piece,
it is marked on bottom China . Quality workmanship is obvious and condition is quite good. From the
1920s, this ashtray shows very minor wear and the base has good enameling as well. Many times, these ashtrays
have lots of damage from chips to the enamel, this one is in really good condition. |

Title: 19th Century Single Brass Candlestick
|
| |
Description
Good
patina and classic look give testimony to the many nights this beauty was put to good use. There is a slight
repair along stem, but truly just adds history to this vintage candlestick and repair is quite well done. The
candlestick has good weight and has a slight diamond panel in the top third and an almost beehive pattern in
the rest of the stem. |

Title: Figural Face Gothic Match Holder
|
| |
Description
Interesting
gothic inspired match holder that depicts a large featured mans face with big nose and eyes closed that form
the match holder. Face is attached to a gothic architectural back that is embellished with arches, spires,
trefoils, etc. unfortunately one side has a piece broken off but this is still a very appealing item. The
profile of this has a look of a gothic styled Victorian chair. |

Title: Folk Art Shell Vase
|
| |
Description
Unusual brass shell vase for that
conversation piece youve always wanted. 8 shells fused together form a great desk accessory for perhaps
holding pens, etc. This appears to be made from metal and lined in the bottom with plaster to weight the
grouping for standing straight. Overall, this is a very unique item. |

Title: Late 18th/Early 19th Century Brass Goblet
|
| |
Description
Very heavy solid brass drink cup that has an almost medieval look to it.
Goblet has markings on bottom that are hard to decipher, but look like the number 83 with some other cross
hatch incising. Interesting piece. This may have been a part of a much larger set and this could have been an
old inventory or collection number. This is so heavy that it almost has a feel of pounds. It appears to be
perhaps turned on an old foot lathe from a solid piece of brass. |

Title: 19th Century Victorian Pair of Brass
Candlesticks
|
| |
Description
Nice set of brass candlesticks with a classic form. Both pieces are of
good quality and no damage is apparent. 99% of brass candlesticks of the 19th century were British, I am
assuming these are as they have good quality weight, and one of the sticks still has the pushup intact. |
